In July 2023, a member of Local 2822 emailed County Administrator David
Hough and County Commissioner Marion Greene. The member expressed concerns about the county’s proposed healthcare cost increases. They also asked about the county’s plans to address the widespread issue of wage compression.
Wage compression happens when new employees make more money than long-term employees in the same position. Throughout the county you’ll find brand-new employees with little or no experience earning more than long-term employees.
